Discovery 947 Ride Joburg Cycle Challenge

Join our team from Wildlife Conservation Trust, and ride for a purpose!

The Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) , Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC) and the Elephant Orphanage are assembling a team to participate in this year’s annual 947 Cycle Challenge. The event will take place on Sunday 17 November 2019, and our cyclists will be riding to raise awareness and funds for the orphaned rhinos and elephant orphanage.

The 947 Cycle Challenge entries have opened for 2019.

For cyclists wishing to ride under the banner of the WCT and HESC, the process will be as follows:

  1. Register for the 947 Cycle Challenge online – https://events.primedia.co.za/index.php/eventSite/2019-telkom-947-cycle-challenge-2019-11-18-00-00-00
  2. Once registered and paid for your registration/entry fee of R540 to the 947 Cycle Challenge organisers, please send your name, contact number and ID number to fundraising@hesc.co.za
  3. Your name will then be added to the Wildlife Conservation Trust Team and you will receive a confirmation from the WCT team leader.

Please note that entries close on Friday 30 August 2019.

Ride-for-rhinos

What does it cost to Ride for a Purpose, and to Ride for the Wildlife Conservation Trust?

  1. 947 entry fee R540 – this is paid directly to the 947 organisers by yourself on registration
  2. Wildlife Conservation Trust Fundraiser – As you are aware the objective of the Ride for a Purpose, ride for the WCT, is to raise awareness and funds for the orphaned rhinos and elephants in our care. Team WCT cyclists will be required to fundraise or donate a minimum of R500 to the Wildlife Conservation Trust. The funds raised are to be paid into the Wildlife Conservation Trust’s bank account by no later than Monday, 11 November 2019 please.
  3. Branded Cycle shirts. You can opt to wear a WCT branded cycling shirt. We will have these finalised during the month of August with pricing.

Remember there is no limit to the amount of funding that a cyclist may raise for the Wildlife Conservation Trust!
