Animal Support

The combined magnitude of veterinary care functions escalated to such an extent that a veterinary clinic with a surgery and animal hospital was established on the premises at the Hoedspruit endangered Species Centre in 1995, making this an integral part of the WCT animal support programmes in the Hoedpsruit area.

Dr. Rogers (wildlife veterinarian) remains on standby for instances when his services are required, along with the support of Prof Nick Kriek (Pathologist at the University of Pretoria).

Support and sharing of knowledge from an advisory committee with Dr. Willem Schuteiss, Prof. Eddie Webb and Dr. Peter Rogers are vital in compiling research projects.

Contact is established with Onderstepoort, the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Pretoria, to provide specialised veterinary support.
